About us...

Originally established in East Brunswick in the early 1940's as the "Ferris Seed Company", the property and store were purchased by Dan and Mike in 1981 together with a nursery and greenhouse-growing facility in nearby Somerset, NJ. The East Brunswick location has evolved into a full-scale garden center - greenhouse-nursery that has professionally served Central Jersey gardeners, landscapers, businesses and farmers for over 29 years !

Owning and operating our own greenhouses and nursery for over 30 years, we have made the investment in time and money to grow only top quality plant material.

Professional Advice

Both of us have extensive experience in the lawn and garden area and we are always ready and willing to help you in any way we can. Unlike some of our competitors who advertise and boast that they are so called "garden experts", we can proudly back up our claim.
Both of us have Bachelor of Science degrees in Plant Science from The Rutgers University College of Agriculture and Environmental Science, now called Cook College. Dan also has his Masters degree in Plant Science from Penn State. Mike also has taught vocational horticulture and agriculture at the high school level. We also continue to attend seminars and short courses during the fall and winter in our quest to grow the best plants possible.
